F-Style Tins
Our F-style tins are rectangular tinplate steel containers used to hold and transport liquids such as solvents, thinners, paints, coatings, adhesives, automotive oils, mineral oils, cleaning chemicals and most other industrial chemicals that are non-corrosive. Available in 16 oz/pint (approx. 500mL), 32 oz/quart (approx. 1L) and 128 oz/gallon (approx. 4L) sizes, these F-style metal tins are resistant to rust, offer far better impact and puncture resistance than plastic or glass, and their flat-sided shape packs tightly into a case or box with very little wasted space when stored. Used as an inner packaging with appropriate closure, cushioning and absorbent then paired with one of our 95 kPa Bags to satisfy the IATA supplementary packaging requirement (IATA 5.0.2.9.4) inside a UN certified 4G or 4GV box, our F-style cans form part of a compliant combination package for ground, air and marine transport (TDG, 49 CFR, IATA DGR and IMDG packing instructions must also be followed to ensure compliance). Every F-style tin takes a screw cap with a sealing liner, and the 128 oz/gallon tin adds a wire carry handle for easier pouring and handling. Our smallest F-style tin, for solvents, thinners, adhesives, coatings and sample quantities of industrial chemicals. The 1 1/4" Alpha opening pours cleanly without a spout, and the flat rectangular profile fits more units into a UN certified 4G or 4GV box than a round can of the same volume. Sold in cases of 225. The quart is our most requested F-style size, used for paints, coatings, lacquer thinners, degreasers and industrial solvents. The wire carry handle makes a full gallon far easier to lift and pour than an equivalent round can, and the square body sits flat on a pallet or shelf with no wasted space. Sold in cases of 40.
